Physicians
Don
Shuwarger,
M.D., F.A.C.O.G., a native of Los Angeles, California, moved to Houston,
Texas in 1978 to attend Baylor College of Medicine. After medical school
he stayed at Baylor for his residency in obstetrics and gynecology where
he won an award for Excellece in Laparoscopy as a Senior Resident. After
residency, Dr. Shuwarger opened his solo practice office in the Clear Lake
Area of Houston. This area surrounds NASA Johnson Space Center. Dr. Shuwarger
became Board Certified in Obstetrics and Gynecology in December, 1987.
He was recertified in 1995.
Fleeing big city life, the Shuwarger family moved to Goode, Virginia
in the summer of 1994. Accompanied by his wife and daughter, the Shuwarger's
have found life to be more enjoyable in the safe and relaxing environment
of a small town. Dr. Shuwarger excels at laparoscopic surgery and reproductive
endocrinology (infertility). His interests outside of medicine include

M. Semiha Uray, M.D., F.A.C.O.G.,
a native of Corpus Christi, Texas, moved to New Jersey as a child. She
earned her undergraduate degree from Brown University. She then graduated
from SUNY Downstate Medical School. After medical school she joined her
father in his obstetrics and gynecology practice. Dr. Uray became board
certified in 1994. After her father retired, Dr. Uray and her family relocated
to Forest, Virginia and joined the Forest Women's Center. Her interests
include delivering babies and spending time with her husband and two sons.
Patricia Gilhuly, P.A.-C.
joined the Forest Women's Center in 1999. She graduated at the top
of her Physician Assistant class from College of Health Sciences, Roanoke,
VA. Pat is a long time resident of Bedford County. She has two daughters
and a loving husband. Prior to becoming a Licensed Physician Assistant,
Pat was a Registered Nurse for twenty years.
Susan Roehrich, L.P.C., L.M.F.T.
is the Center's counselor. She is specifically endorsed in general
counseling, marriage and family counseling and is a certified Eating Disorders
counselor. She specializes in providing counseling services to women
clients throughout the lifecycle, including infertility counseling, career
vs. family issues, menopause and depression. Susan is married and
has four children. She is in her Ph.D. program at Virginia Tech.
Location and Hours
The Forest Women's Center office is located at 2007 Graves Mill Road in
Forest, VA 24551. The building is on the northeast corner of Graves Mill
Road and State Road 221.

Coming U.S. 221 (Lakeside Dr.) from Lynchburg:
Turn right on Graves Mill Road. Cross railroad tracks. First driveway
on right.

Coming U.S. 460 from Lynchburg or Bedford:
Take U.S. 29 North to 501 North (the Lynchburg Expressway), exit Graves
Mill Road. Turn left on Graves Mill Road. Continue on Graves Mill Road
until you pass U.S. 221 and cross the railroad tracks. Turn right at first
driveway.

The Forest Women's Center office is open Monday through Friday, 9:00 a.m.
to 5:00 p.m. Tuesdays we are open until 7:30 p.m. Emergency calls are accepted
24 hours a day, seven days a week by calling the office phone number, 804/385-8949.
